Decapitated es una banda de death metal formada en Krosno, Polonia en 1996. Está integrada por el guitarrista, fundador y compositorWacław «Vogg» Kiełtyka, el vocalista Rafał Piotrowski y el bajista Pawel Pasek. Decapitated ha sido reconocida como una de las bandas más respetables del género y uno de los mejores exponentes del death metal técnico.  El grupo consiguió una fiel base de fanes en la comunidad underground y se convirtió en uno de los más innovadores del death metal moderno.

A finales de 2007, la banda sufrió un accidente automovilístico. Vitek murió a los 23 años el 2 de noviembre de 2007 debido a las heridas, mientras que Covan sobrevivió pero entró en estado de coma. Después de un tiempo de descanso, Vogg decidió reformar Decapitated con Piotrowski y Krimh e iniciar una gira por Europa, Australia y Estados Unidos. Su quinto álbum, Carnival Is Forever, se publicó el 12 de julio de 2011.
